Description
A flavorful side dish combining sweet honey and savory garlic with perfectly roasted cauliflower.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil on the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.
- Roast the cauliflower for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through until tender and slightly browned.
- While the cauliflower roasts, prepare the sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan.
- Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly until it simmers and thickens slightly (about 3 to 5 minutes). Remove from heat.
- Once the cauliflower is nearly done, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the warm honey garlic sauce over it. Gently toss until each piece is coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
For extra crunch, dip the cauliflower florets in an egg wash and coat them in breadcrumbs before roasting.
