Description

This Eggnog Bread Pudding is the perfect festive dessert made with buttery brioche soaked in creamy eggnog custard, baked to golden perfection, and drizzled with a warm rum sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

6 cups cubed brioche or challah bread (day-old preferred)

2 cups eggnog

1 cup heavy cream

3 large eggs

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Optional: 2 tbsp spiced rum or bourbon

Topping: whipped cream, caramel sauce, or rum sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Place bread cubes evenly in the baking dish.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggnog, cream, eggs, sugars, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, melted butter, and rum (if using).

4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down gently so all cubes absorb liquid.

5. Let sit for 15 minutes to soak.

6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden and set in the center.

7. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or a drizzle of rum or caramel sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, use cinnamon swirl bread or add a handful of raisins or white chocolate chips before baking.

You can prepare it the night before — cover and refrigerate, then bake fresh in the morning.

Pairs beautifully with coffee or hot cocoa on a winter morning.
