Description

A delicious and nutritious dessert made with wholesome ingredients, naturally sweetened with apples and honey or maple syrup.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup grated apples
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the applesauce, grated apples, honey (or maple syrup), almond milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until well mixed. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve plain, or with Greek yogurt or honey on top. Pairs well with tea or coffee.
