Description

Delicious and customizable icing cookies perfect for any occasion. Great for decorating with kids and making unique designs.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar and milk in a bowl until smooth. Add food coloring if desired.
  10. Spread or pipe the icing on the cooled cookies and let it set.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
