Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour heart-shaped cake pans.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the creamed mixture alternately with milk until fully incorporated.
- Add pink food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
- Pour the batter evenly into prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- For frosting, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth; add more milk if necessary.
- Frost the cooled cakes and decorate with sprinkles if desired.
