Description

A zesty twist on the classic deviled eggs, combining creamy flavors with Cajun seasoning for an unforgettable appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 hard-boiled eggs, peeled & halved lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dill pickle relish
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 11 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 23 dashes hot sauce
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 1/2 tsp gumbo file powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Eggs: Start by boiling the eggs. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and let them sit for about 12 minutes. Then, cool them in ice water and peel.
  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, scoop the yolks out from each egg half and place them in a mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, yellow mustard, Cajun seasoning, and hot sauce. Mix everything together until it’s smooth and creamy.
  3. Fill the Egg Whites: Scoop the egg yolk mixture into a piping bag or a plastic bag with the corner snipped off. Carefully fill each egg white half with the mixture, generously overfilling for that delightful presentation.
  4. Add the Crunch: Mix the Panko breadcrumbs, gumbo file powder, and any additional Cajun seasoning. Once the eggs are filled, dip the top of each filled egg into the mixture to coat.
  5. Chill and Serve: Place your deviled eggs on a serving platter and chill them in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider garnishing with a sprinkle of paprika or fresh chopped parsley.
