Description

Sticky Garlic Chicken Noodles are a savory, sweet, and slightly spicy dish that’s quick to prepare and perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or mild-flavored)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (fresh preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and toss them with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until they are evenly coated.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce and honey, adding red chili flakes, if desired. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  7. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss together until well-coated in the sauce.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu. Add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition.
