Description

A delicious and classic Margherita pizza topped with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil; mix to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  7. Spread crushed tomatoes over the dough, leaving a border.
  8. Top with mozzarella slices and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  9. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, bake the pizza on a pizza stone.
