A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken, bowtie pasta, and broccoli in a buttery lemon sauce.

- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions for 10-12 minutes, adding broccoli florets during the last 3 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Season chicken with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add unsalted butter to the pan and let melt. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and Dijon mustard, adding red pepper flakes if desired. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Combine drained pasta and broccoli with the sauce and chicken. Gradually add reserved pasta water until reaching desired consistency. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and chives before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat on the stovetop with a splash of water or broth.
