Description

A delicious and filling dish combining smoky sausage with rich, creamy cheese sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or hearty family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic, and sauté until soft.
  3. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
  5. Add the pasta and enough water or broth to cover it. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat and simmer until pasta is cooked.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add more Cajun seasoning or a dash of hot sauce. Can be made with turkey sausage for a lighter version.
