A quick and flavorful shrimp taco recipe with creamy slaw that bursts with lime flavor.

- 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from that same lime)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- 3 cups finely shredded green cabbage
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 whole lime)
- Avocado, sliced
- 8 6-inch tortillas (corn or flour)
- Extra lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Season the shrimp: In a bowl, add the shrimp and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly.
- Cook the shrimp: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque. In the last minute of cooking, add the lime zest and lime juice for an extra zing. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Make the slaw: In another bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, honey, chopped cilantro, Greek yogurt, and lime juice. Mix well until the cabbage is coated nicely.
- Warm the tortillas: Meanwhile, you can warm your tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Assemble your tacos: Take a warm tortilla, pile on some of the creamy slaw, add a portion of shrimp, and garnish with fresh avocado slices. Serve with extra lime wedges for that final squeeze of flavor.
Notes
Store leftover shrimp and slaw separately in airtight containers. Shrimp lasts about 2 days, slaw for about 3 days.
