Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, and eggs.
- Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Mix gently until just combined.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Use a donut cutter to shape the donuts from the dough. Fry them for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
- While they’re still warm, roll the donuts in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
Notes
Serve with coffee or tea, and consider adding chocolate or caramel sauce for extra indulgence. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
