Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or mascarpone cheese

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the gelatin over the water in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. Mix the sour cream or mascarpone in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Heat the gelatin mixture until completely dissolved, avoiding boiling.
  5. Fold the dissolved gelatin into the whipped cream mixture gently.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the gelatin mixture until fully combined.
  7. Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
