Description
A homemade pepperoni pizza that’s crispy, savory, and perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Combine the flour and salt in a larger mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in your yeast mixture along with the olive oil. Mix everything together until a dough starts to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until it feels smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll the risen dough out on a floured surface to the desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and top with pepperoni slices and oregano.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese bubbles.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.
