Ingredients

  • 4 pieces skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Caramelized onions (For garnish, if desired)
  • Shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (Optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Season the chicken using salt, pepper, and paprika, then add it to the skillet. Cook for 6-8 minutes on each side until it’s golden and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a plate and keep it warm.
  2. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the remaining butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant. Pour in the warm chicken stock, and whisk in the honey and dried parsley. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it well with the sauce. Allow it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes. If you want to, sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last minute of cooking.
  4. Plate the chicken. Pour extra sauce over it and garnish with caramelized onions if desired. Serve it with rice, mashed potatoes, or warm bread to soak up that glorious sauce.

Notes

If using chicken thighs instead of breasts, adjust the cooking time as necessary. Serve with rice or bread to soak up the sauce.
