A delightful and simple Margherita pizza topped with fresh mozzarella and basil.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Spread tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a border.
- Top with mozzarella slices and basil leaves.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and season with salt and pepper.
Notes
For a crispier crust, preheat the baking stone before placing the pizza on it.
