Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Pink frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter equally between the two prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cool, spread pink frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.
  10. Decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles for a festive look.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for easier mixing. You can freeze the cake for up to three months if tightly wrapped.
