Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Spread crushed tomatoes on the dough and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with slices of mozzarella and fresh basil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden.
Notes
For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone.
