Ingredients
6 large croissants, cut into chunks
2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
Powdered sugar for dusting
Maple syrup or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Arrange croissant chunks evenly in the dish and sprinkle berries over the top.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon zest.
4. Pour custard mixture evenly over croissants, gently pressing down to soak the pieces.
5. Let sit for 10–15 minutes (or refrigerate overnight for a make-ahead option).
6. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until golden and custard is set.
7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
8. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup or whipped cream.
Notes
You can use frozen berries — no need to thaw, just bake a few minutes longer.
