Ingredients
1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
1 lb ricotta cheese
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 box instant chocolate pudding mix
1 1/2 cups cold milk
1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare chocolate cake batter according to package instructions.
3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Pour cake batter into the prepared baking dish.
5. Carefully spoon ricotta mixture evenly over the cake batter.
6. Bake for 55–60 minutes, until center is set.
7. Allow cake to cool completely.
8. Whisk pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
9. Fold whipped topping into the pudding.
10. Spread pudding mixture evenly over the cooled cake.
11. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
Cake layers will magically reverse while baking.
Serve chilled for best texture and flavor.
Can be made a day ahead for easy entertaining.
