Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let it sit until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture and knead into a dough.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and place it on a pizza stone.
  6. Spread crushed tomatoes evenly over the dough and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Arrange the mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone and preheat it with the oven.
