Description
A savory and sweet Korean Beef Bowl recipe that brings the flavors of Korean street markets to your kitchen. Quick and easy, perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cups cooked rice
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the beef: In a large skillet, heat it over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Be sure to break it up with a spatula for even cooking.
- Drain the fat: Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat to keep the dish from being overly greasy.
- Mix the sauce: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet with the beef. Stir everything until well mixed.
- Thicken the sauce: Let the mixture cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Serve it up: Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
For added freshness, serve with steamed broccoli or quick pickled vegetables. A fried egg on top enhances the dish wonderfully!
