Description
Delicious lamb koftas paired with a refreshing yoghurt dressing, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 lb / 500 g lamb mince (ground lamb)
- 1/2 onion, grated
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp coriander
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp cooking / kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup yogurt (Greek or other thick plain)
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 8 skewers
- 8 flatbreads (small)
- Shredded red cabbage, carrot, and mint salad (or lettuce, tomato, and onion slices)
Instructions
- Combine the yogurt, crushed garlic, cumin, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
- Grate the onion and add to another bowl with the lamb mince, breadcrumbs, crushed garlic, chopped coriander, cumin, coriander, paprika, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix until cohesive.
- Shape the mixture into eight equal pieces around the skewers using damp hands.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cook the koftas for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
- Serve the koftas on flatbreads, drizzled with the yoghurt dressing and topped with shredded salad.
Notes
To store leftovers, place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
