Description
A creamy and zesty lemon garlic sauce that’s perfect over pasta, chicken, or vegetables. Easy to prepare and great for impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Start by melting the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to foam slightly.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 60 to 90 seconds until fragrant and golden. Be careful not to burn it!
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Add the lemon zest and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt completely.
- Add the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley just before serving.
- Serve the sauce immediately over pasta, chicken, seafood, or vegetables.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
