- Cabbage leaves
- Cooked lentils
- Cooked rice
- 1 Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Herbs (like thyme or basil)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
- Mix cooked lentils, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, and herbs in a large bowl.
- Carefully separate cabbage leaves and fill each leaf with a portion of the lentil mixture, rolling them up tightly.
- Place them seam side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy your hearty and healthy meal!
Notes
For added flavor, enhance the tomato sauce with herbs or spices. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
