- Tortillas
- 1 pound ground beef or shredded chicken or cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and minced garlic, then sauté until they soften and turn fragrant.
- Next, add your choice of ground beef or shredded chicken. Cook until it browns nicely.
- Season the mixture with cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Take a tortilla and place some of the filling in the center. Fold it over and seal the edges tightly.
- Heat more oil in a separate pan and fry the sambusas until they turn a golden brown on both sides.
- Once they’re all done, drain the sambusas on paper towels and serve while hot!
Notes
For variety, try different fillings like feta cheese, spinach, or lentils for a vegetarian option. Serve with yogurt sauce or salsa.
