Description
A delicious and easy-to-make pan-seared steak with aromatic garlic butter and fresh rosemary, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 boneless ribeye or sirloin steak (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the steak: Let the steak sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides liberally with salt and pepper.
- Heat the skillet: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil once it’s hot and shimmering.
- Sear the steak: Add the steak to the skillet and sear undisturbed for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
- Add butter and aromatics: Reduce heat to medium-low and add unsalted butter, crushed garlic, and rosemary, allowing the butter to melt.
- Baste the steak: Scoop up the butter mixture and pour it over the steak for 1-2 minutes.
- Rest and serve: Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pair the steak with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
