  • 1 cup buttercream frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—this should take about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and finish with the dry ingredients for best results.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full to allow for rising.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of a cupcake.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl. Once the cupcakes have cooled, frost them with buttercream frosting and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
